The Dark Knight

There are few times that a movie can change your view on the industry: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Independence Day.

Even those movies cannot compare to The Dark Knight.  In this follow up to the 2005 Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne faces a brand new foe that has no rhyme or reason.  The Joker is a bad ass mothafucka who does what he wants, and how he wants to.  Heath Ledger truly dissolves into the character, because I was not able to see him, all that existed was the Joker.

The visuals are amazing and they keep you entertained, while at the same time the dialouge digs deeply into the minds of the characters, and furthermore, makes one think about his/her inner demons.  The plot is RAW and the all-star cast is on point.  I cannot wait to  see it again in iMax!!!

They Took Our Jerbs (Jobs)

So I was on my favorite sneaker site today and I saw that we had the damn immigration discussion.  And I saw that there were many emotional responses and many polar responses.  This is an issue that people feel strong about for reasons I do not quite understand.

73% of Americans are white, 12% latino, and 11% black, yet these MoFos would have you believe that the entire make up of the United STates is somehow being changed and that they "took our jobs."  If the latino population went from 5% to 12% of the total US population in 10 yrs. so what?

 

This just means that there are more brown people walking the streets of major metropolitan areas.  We (latinos) have grown in numbers because we are peaceful and the US needs us as much as we need it.  If we want a more civil union, then we must agree to disagree.

Lets start by saying inter-racial couples are cool, everyone in the states should know at least 2 languages, and no more anti-immigration laws.  Please remember people, just becasue "Mexicans" look like terrorists from the middle east, that doesn't mean they are.

My sentiments exactly amigo.   I just think mary jane gets a bad rap because she can heal the world.  If everybody got high then there would be more peace!  I miss the old college days when it was abundant and I was more than willing to take some tokes.  That's when people are most creative.  And I finally got to see why people loved Devin the Dude, Three 6 Mafia, and chopped and screwed music so much.

It's hotter than hell out here in Baltimore, and there was another shooting down the street.  I love this city, especially when it gets hot.  Dopeboys get impatient, police get ancy, and the neighborhoods get live.   I hope the fiends keep these fools occupied so I can enjoy my summer.

Time to head downtown and have some fun in Federal Hill with the bunnies.  I'm ready to get it in with my linen shorts on so my balls don't get hot.  The broadies  should be on the streets later this afternoon...

So the House passed another Bill allowing amnesty for wireless companies when they wiretap you're phone.

According to the Associated Press, "The compromise bill directs a federal district court to review certifications from the attorney general saying the telecommunications companies received presidential orders telling them wiretaps were needed to detect or prevent a terrorist attack. If the paperwork were deemed in order, the judge would dismiss the lawsuit."

So now the government can do as they please with our private conversations.  These bills are continually taking away our civil liberties, and are more and more un-Constitutional.  What's more this one is basically taking the courts out of the equation.  So Americans no longer have anywhere to go to show that these acts are illegal!  

Bushonomics is wack! 9/11 has long passed, when are we going to stop letting them use that as an excuse to get away with violations of everything this country was founded upon?

God's Gift to Dominicans!!!!

Adobo was put on this earth to let us Dominicans eat our to our hearts' content.  It has single handedly gotten me through college and the last 4 months of "living the dream".  You can add it to any poultry or red meat and it will be delicious.  

The next time you have a cookout add adobo to the burgers and see if N's don't see you as the king of the grill.  I have seen it take taste buds to the highest levels of excitement, and you will  be loved for it.  

For breakfast you can add it to the salami that your gonna eat with Mangu.

Rainy Days Are Better Than Sober Ones

 They say that rain is God crying, but if that is the case, then are sunny days God smiling?  

I can not imagine a more peaceful environment than that of a cool spring day filled with rain. 

 Sure it brings a sullen and dry atmosphere to most, but not I.  In this world we live in today people are drones in the army of the capitalist state.  We eat, breathe, shit, and work in an endless cycle in order to spend all that we earn on material things like cars, clothes, and jewelry.  Think about how many beautiful sunny days go by and we sit and do nothing because we are stuck at work and the humdrum, mundane realities at work make us wish we could be outside and be free.  Now flip that and think about the rainy days, and you find yourself listening to the rain as its melody hypnotizes you and you begin to think...

That the hidden beauty of rain.  It allows you to disconnect from reality if only for split second and think about your heart's content.  It can be an escape that so many of us are desperately seeking out.  Allow it to soothe you like a healing elixir to your minds ailments.  

Rain is also the take-awayer of drought and the bringer of hope.
